You can search for approvals, manufacturers and approval holders by
packaging type codes, approval numbers or manufacturer identification
codes. It is also possible to search for manufacturers of dangerous
goods packagings, limited locally to countries or cities. The search
results can be printed out as lists.

An extension of the search tool is under construction incorporating
further search criteria such as technical characteristics (e.g. size,
capacity) or performance characteristics (e.g. suitability for very
dangerous, dangerous or less dangerous goods) as given in the middle
section of the UN marking indicated above.
The search tool has been developed in co-operation with the FHTW
Berlin - University of Applied Sciences.
The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is the
competent authority in Germany for testing, approval and manufacturing
controls of packagings for the transport of dangerous goods on road,
rail, sea and air mode. Packagings manufactured according to these
approvals may be used world-wide.
